The St Petersburg University student golf team took part in the Yudin Valley Cup international student competition, held for the second time in Krasnoyarsk. More than 70 athletes from leading Russian universities, and universities from Belarus, China, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador and Jamaica competed for the prize-winning places.

The results of the tournament can be found on the website of the National Student Golf League.

Olga Titova, a 2024 alumna of the University, finished second in the women’s individual Amateur division, improving on last year’s result: at the 2023 tournament, she won bronze in the individual event and silver in the team event. St Petersburg University was also represented at the competition by management students Svetlana Antonova (a 3rd-year student), Dmitrii Metliaev (a 3rd-year student), Ostap Kozakov (a 1st-year student), Zinaida Korotkaia (a 2nd-year student), and Timirian Iaganshin (a 1st-year student).

In the new academic year, the University will open a golf club, which students of all areas of study are invited to join.

Detailed information and the training schedule will be published on the website of the Sports Department and in the group of the St Petersburg University Sports Club group on the Vkontakte website.

Russia topped the international rankings, with Belarus in second place and the international teams of Jamaica and Cuba completing the top three.

The Yudin Valley Cup was organised with the support of the Ministry of Sport of Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Sports Training Centre and the National Student Golf League. The competition took place on a traditional 18-hole course designed by the European Golf Design Bureau, the first world-class golf course beyond the Urals. The first game on the course took place in 2023 as part of the Yudin Valley Cup, which brought together athletes from nine countries.
