St Petersburg University chemists to be able to win the Labconcept Research Scholarships

Young scientists studying chemistry at St Petersburg University will be able to win a special research scholarship from OOO Labconcept. The scholarship programme documents have been signed by: Sergey Mikushev, Vice-Rector for Research at St Petersburg University; and Anatolii Khripun, Development Director at OOO Labconcept.
The Labconcept scholarship will be awarded to the two best young chemists who conduct research of high practical relevance using the modern analytical equipment at St Petersburg University, including the St Petersburg University Research Park infrastructure. Today, St Petersburg University makes it possible for young researchers to conduct numerous studies using the high-tech equipment of the resource centres at the St Petersburg University Research Park.
The St Petersburg University Research Park is a shared-use state-of-the-art research infrastructure. It includes 23 resource centres with the cutting-edge equipment to conduct research in: chemical composition analysis; biomedicine; information systems and technologies; ecology; environmental management; materials science; nanotechnology; and other areas. Today, the St Petersburg University Research Park provides access to unique research facilities worth over 7.5 billion roubles.
‘It is very important to us that both students and professional researchers acquire the skills to be able to use modern equipment for conducting advanced research. Our cooperation with Labconcept goes far beyond the scholarship programme. I would like to thank the company for their methodology support and for the opportunity to train our researchers on modern analytical techniques in the company’s laboratory. I hope that in the near future we will be able to offer a couple of joint programmes at the St Petersburg University Research Park,’ said Sergey Mikushev, Vice-Rector for Research at St Petersburg University.

The partnership scholarship of St Petersburg University and OOO Labconcept will be awarded annually to encourage and support promising research and development by the University’s young chemists. Sergey Mikushev noted that corporate scholarships enable students to get to know different companies and decide on their future employment, while still studying at the University. The partner companies, on the other hand, receive an opportunity to select young professionals with high potential and offer them different internship options and employment following their graduation from the University.
‘I hope that the scholarship established by our company will motivate young chemists to engage in theoretical research, and acquire sought-after practical skills for conducting research using modern analytical equipment. We will welcome the best of them in our company, although I believe they will be in demand in various sectors of the economy,’ said Anatolii Khripun, Development Director at OOO Labconcept.
