St Petersburg University has become the most popular university in Russia among foreigners
According to Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation), following the results of the completed admission campaign, St Petersburg Universityhas become the most popular Russian university among foreigners.
4200 applicants from several dozen countries submitted their applications for admission to the first university of Russia.
The Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship, which traditionally attracts applicants from abroad, placed second with a significant margin: 3378 people wanted to study there this year. The top three is closed by Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, where 2194 people sent their documents.
88 906 foreign applicants submitted their applications to Russian universities during the 2018 admission campaign.
Notice that the annual number of quotas for training is 15 thousand.
The most popular field of study among foreign applicants was General Medicine; in total, almost five thousand applications were submitted for this programme.
