St Petersburg University online courses have become prize winners of the EdCrunch Award 2018 international competition
Online courses launched by St Petersburg University have won awards in the 4th International EdCrunch Award 2018 Competition. The following courses have been ranked among the best in Russia and the CIS: «English: Preparation for the Candidate’s Examination», «Introduction to Bioinformatics: Metagenomics», and «Islam: History, Culture and Practice».
The course «English: Preparation for the Candidate’s Examination» (supervised by Svetlana Rubtsova, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, St Petersburg University) was highly appreciated by the users. The project was awarded a 3rd class diploma in the general nomination «Best Online Course as Rated by Consumers».
The prize-winning online courses of St Petersburg University are available on Coursera and the Russian National Platform of Open Education.
Moreover, the online course «Introduction to Bioinformatics: Metagenomics» (supervised by Alla Lapidus, St Petersburg University Professor) was the second best in the special nomination «For Being Able to Clearly Explain the Most Abstract Ideas».
A 1st class diploma in the special nomination «Culture, History and Philosophy» was awarded to «Islam: History, Culture and Practice», another online course of St Petersburg University (supervised by Darya Ulanova, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Arabic Philology, St Petersburg University).
A total of 150 online courses from Russia and the CIS took part in the 4th EdCrunch Award International Competition. The competition is aimed at exchanging the best practices and improving the quality of education in the field of e-learning. The results are published on the official website of the competition.
