St Petersburg University starts accepting applications for Preparatory course
SPbU will accept documents from foreign citizens applying for the admission from 3 February 2025 to 25 August 2025 (both for full-time students and for distance learning students).
Since applications are accepted electronically, each applicant is supposed to create a Personal Account on the University portal, fill in an application for admission and submit the required documents.
To participate in the competitive selection for admission, international citizens should submit the following documents:
- A copy of the applicant’s identity document, valid for at least 18 months from the visa application date
- Proof of previous education with transcripts
- One 3×4 cm photograph
- Medical certificate from a medical institution in the applicant’s country of residence confirming the absence of health conditions that could interfere with studies. This must include certificates from a psychiatrist and an addiction specialist
Lists of applicants recommended for enrolment will be published on the SPbU official website no later than August 29, 2025.
About the Course
The course includes an intensive Russian language programme and offers up to 6 days of classes per week.
In the second semester, 5 specialisation tracks are available to prepare yourself for studying at a degree programme in Russian:
• Natural Science
• Engineering and Technology
• Humanities
• Economics
• Medicine and Biology
Students can embark on their Russian language journey from the very beginning or join the advanced group to continue their studies. The course culminates in the official TORFL examination. After passing the test, students will receive a certificate at the end of the year, with guaranteed proficiency at the B1-B2 level.
