St Petersburg University students and teachers raise funds for the "One, Two, All" Foundation

More than 111,000 roubles were raised at St Petersburg University in a charity lottery. All funds will go to the "One, Two, All" Foundation, which supports adults and children with severe disabilities.

The traditional event is organised by law students. To take part, you have to buy a lottery ticket and test your luck, find out whether you will get a prize or not. If you are unlucky, you may compete for lots at an auction. The organisers name a starting price and the final price is determined only by the excitement of the bidders.

The lots for the lottery and auction were prepared by the research clubs, professors, and staff of the University. This year’s lottery included: a ball signed by Zenit football club players; a stuffed toy seal brought from Baikal; a book about Van Gogh; tableware from the Imperial Porcelain Factory; autographed books by teachers; and certificates for visiting cafes, theatres, museums, quests, and the aquarium.

‘A total of 520 tickets were sold and about 90 lots were played. Every participant contributed to the success of the campaign,’ said Grigorii Rushonik, one of the lottery organisers, a student at St Petersburg University.

‘This is a great help and support for the "One, Two, All" Foundation. All raised money will be allocated for art therapy for people supported by the foundation,’ said organiser Albina Molodchikova.

The lottery and auction have been held annually at the University on 22nd Line, Vasilyevsky Island since 2012. The only exception has been the few years of the COVID-19 pandemic. ‘Teachers and students come together to collect lots and distribute them to the luckiest. Such unity is especially important after the coronavirus when, for insurmountable reasons, the University community found itself divided. The large number of participants this year and their involvement is a clear sign of a return to the glorious pre-coronavirus times,’ said Ivan Nikiforov, a student at St Petersburg University and co-organiser of the campaign.
