Tatiana Chernigovskaya wins a prize of the international film festival World of Knowledge
Professor Tatiana Chernigovskaya, Director of the Institute for Cognitive Studies of St Petersburg University, has been awarded the special prize "For popularization of science by means of scientific and documentary films" at the opening ceremony of the 17th international science film festival World of Knowledge .
Tatiana Chernigovskaya is one of the most famous educators in Russia. Her videos garner millions of views. The Professor of SPbU is the author and participant of numerous popular science TV programmes and films. She was awarded gold medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the nomination "Life sciences" (2017). The scientist is the author of over 350 scientific works in leading Russian and foreign journals. It was on her initiative that the first Russian master’s programmes in psycholinguistics and cognitive studies were opened at St Petersburg University.
Tatiana Chernigovskaya is a member of the Academic Council on the methodology of artificial intelligence and cognitive research at the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, winner of the national award "Professor of the year" in the field biological sciences (2021), winner of the "Star of Academician Dmitry Likhachev".
It is completely unexpected award. I have just found out about it. Nevertheless, it is really important to me. Scientific films are one of the instruments to popularize healthy thinking, healthy food for our brain.

International film festival World of Knowledge was held at St. Petersburg for the seventeenth time. The festival is an interdisciplinary project at the intersection of art and science. It aims to popularize science and documentary films, give new opportunists for realisation of filmmakers’ and artists’ potential. Film studio named after M. Gorky supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation holds the festival. The international competition programme includes films from Argentina, Brazil, German, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Russia, etc.
