The programme is aimed at fundamental comprehensive and high-quality training of academic staff in the field of gastroenterology and dietetics. Students acquire in-depth knowledge of: the digestive system and the process of nutrition; the mechanisms of food assimilation; epidemiology; diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and nutritional disorders; and rehabilitation of patients with these diseases. Students also master skills in conducting research activities and methods of processing the material obtained, and skills required in the planning and carrying out scientific studies. The aspirantura programme is designed to develop the skills of scientific search and abilities to conduct research projects: independent setting of tasks of scientific research, planning, conducting, processing and presentation of its findings. Students also master cutting-edge research methods and techniques in their area of specialisation and develop academic skills.
