Programme description
  • The master’s programme "Corporate Communications and Advertising" is a career-building prospect both in the communications departments of large companies and in advertising, communications and PR agencies. This is ensured by the possibility of doing practical training and professional internships in them
  • During their studies, students acquire versatile skills in managing the communications departments of companies in various business areas. They also master competencies in: creative advertising; producing audiovisual communication products; generating marketing, creative and media strategies for business and socio-cultural projects; and promoting companies in the digital environment. The knowledge, skills and abilities gained enable graduates to build successful careers in leading companies, create their own communication projects, and develop in academia
  • The programme is well suited to applicants who have not previously studied Advertising and Public Relations. It is designed for those who want to gain versatile skills in: creating communication; advertising and PR products; copyrighting; digital storytelling; communication design; creative modelling; digital promotion; and managing the communication departments of large companies. It also offers additional opportunities for those who want to broaden their competences in advertising and public relations and marketing communications

  • The programme is practice-oriented. Lecturers-practitioners are involved in delivering lectures. Students have to do summer internship after the first year of study and prepare communication projects for partner companies of St Petersburg University at the Clinic of Communication Projects in each year of study
  • Highly qualified teaching staff with experience of teaching at top foreign universities: authors of well-known textbooks in the field of marketing, advertising, public relations, and journalism; and prominent practitioners-managers and top managers of communication agencies, political strategists, corporate communications consultants, experts in marketing and media planning, winners of prestigious professional prizes and awards, and visiting lecturers from leaders in the professional community
  • The programme is based on global experience in strategic business communication and creative advertising. Some courses are taught in English. Students come from different countries and there is a cross-cultural learning environment. This improves the competitiveness of graduates in the international labour market
  • There are extensive contacts with professional community: the Russian Public Relations Association; the Association of Public Relations Consultancy Companies; the European Association of Political Consultants; and the Association of Communication Agencies of Russia
  • There is an opportunity to participate in events for industry professionals (GR Club, Advertisers Club)
  • High-tech professional centres make it possible for students to master practical skills and regularly win in Russian and international professional competitions
  • Professional activity sites include: the Clinic of Communication Projects; the 1st Line informational and educational portal; the Razvilka portal; the Training newspaper; St Petersburg University Media Centre; and international competitions such as Mass Media Perspective, and PolitPRpro
  • Students do professional internships in leading communications agencies, advertising and PR services of governmental and business structures. This enables graduates to become maximally competitive in the labour market
