- The bachelor's programme ‘Environmental Design’ provides a fundamental university liberal education. It also provides an opportunity to acquire professional knowledge, and the skills and technologies of environmental design in the context of professional interdisciplinary relations
- Uniquely designed teaching techniques of profession-oriented courses provide training of multiskilled environmental designers. They are capable of performing projects in different design fields such as: the design of small architectural forms; urban design; landscape design; interior design; and architectural, museum and exhibition design
- Special attention during training is paid to the issues of: the adaptation of cultural heritage objects to modern functions; project management; and the legal foundations of professional practice
- The programme combines advanced information and computer technologies with classical and innovative design methods
- Upon completion of the programme, graduates are awarded the additional qualification ‘Design artist’

The programme is designed to train multiskilled environmental designers who are capable of meeting modern requirements, and working at every stage of a design process from the collection and processing of information to the creation of a project for a design object independently as well as a part of a creative team.
The teaching staff of the programme comprises a team of like-minded professionals—both practitioners and theorists—with extensive experience in the scientific and applied fields of environmental design and artistic practice. The team includes specialists in a range of disciplines, including landscape design, restoration, architecture, interior design, and urban planning. All lecturers are members of professional creative unions, such as the Union of Artists, the Union of Architects, the Association of Landscape Architects, and the Union of Designers. Many hold academic degrees in art studies or architecture and possess honorary titles.
