St Petersburg University will host a series of online lectures delivered in English by professors from China.

4:15 pm Open Lecture by Lü Zehua on general provisions of the Criminal Code of the People’s Republic of China
Professor Lü Zehua from the College of Political Science and Law at Capital Normal University in Beijing will present an overview of the general provisions of China’s Criminal Code, including its theoretical foundations, application principles, and different types of penalties.

4:15 pm "Artificial Intelligence in Chinese Courts" — open lecture by Peng Haiqing
Professor Peng Haiqing from the Law School of Beijing Institute of Technology will discuss the application of artificial intelligence in Chinese judicial systems. During the lecture students will find out what types of cases require this technology and how neural networks analyse evidence and case materials.

4:45 pm «Artificial Intelligence in Chinese Courts» — open lecture by Peng Haiqing
Professor Peng Haiqing will discuss how Chinese judges utilise AI-powered software solutions when drafting preliminary versions of court rulings.

4:45 pm «Crime and Punishment in China» — open lecture by Lü Zehua
Professor Lü Zehua will discuss the concept and characteristics of crimes under Chinese law, including their categories, legal elements, and classification.

4:15 pm Open Lecture by Lü Zehua on the application of China’s Criminal Code
Professor Lü Zehua will examine the distinctive features of China’s Criminal Code application, provide detailed analysis of its structure, and discuss the role of judicial interpretations issued by the Supreme People’s Court of the PRC.
