The romantic relationships of ordinary people remain only in their memories, while loves of the brightest poets gain immortality in the history of literature by virtue of their letters and poems.
Marina Tsvetaeva always fell passionately and painfully in love with both men and women existed in reality or only in her imagination. A literary character could also be an object of her passion. Tsvetaeva dedicated an entire passage to Evgenii Onegin and Tatiana, protagonists of the world’s famous novel in verse written by Alexander Pushkin in her work "My Pushkin", a historical and literary essay and a declaration of love to the Great Russian poet.
Marina was married to Sergei Efron, whom she was very kind to. They raised their two-year-old daughter Ariadne together. He was tolerant towards her affairs and always chivalrously awaited her to come back throughout all their marriage.
Tsvetaeva’s life, difficult, full of loses and hardships ended tragically. She hanged herself on the rope that Boris Pasternak had given to her when helped Marina in packing things to evacuate. ‘The rope will withstand everything, even if you hang yourself, it will definitely come in handy’, said Pasternak. For that moment, he did not know his words would be prophetic. The legacy of Marina Tsvetaeva is enormous: over 800 lyric poems, 17 poems, 8 plays, 50 prose and over 1000 letters. It significantly influences everyone who interested in her life and works.
The meeting will be held online in Russian with simultaneous translation into Spanish.
