Motivation to learn: paradoxes and opportunities for development
St Petersburg University and its Representative Office in Spain invite you to the online lecture "Motivation to learn: paradoxes and opportunities for development" as a part of the lecture series "How to teach and learn in the 21st century". The lecture will be given by Leonid Iliushin, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, and Professor at the Institute of Pedagogy at St Petersburg University.
Researchers, teachers and many parents are faced with the problem of a child’s lack of motivation to study. How do you make a child want to learn? How can we ensure that the child does not lose the inner incentive to learn new things, no matter how much effort it may take to do so? What new methodology could help to involve the child in the educational process and help them to fulfil themselves? In our next lecture we will try to find answers to these questions and learn about extrinsic and intrinsic motivation and ways to make educational activities meaningful for the child.
