St Petersburg — in the World, the World in St Petersburg
As part of the International Day of Tolerance, the opening of the 19th annual student photography exhibition "St Petersburg — in the World, the World in St Petersburg" will be held at the Headquarters of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Tauride Palace.
The exhibition will feature works by students from St Petersburg University and universities of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, representatives of foreign countries, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Russia.
The jury board will include Vladimir Savinov, Vice-Rector for Educational Activity at St Petersburg University; Aleksandr Belenkii and Lolita Krylova, Assistant Professors at the Graduate School of Journalism and Mass Communication at St Petersburg University, and Otabek Abdukhalilov and Andrei Iordan, chairpersons of the Foreign Students Club and the Student Council at St Petersburg University; and Elena Ignateva, Head of the creative workshop "Photojournalism" of the youth media centre "Poliarnik".
On the opening day, the winners will be announced in six nominations: "The city on the free Neva" (through the eyes of foreigners); "Moments of student life"; "Friendship without borders"; "Multinational St Petersburg"; "My distant home", and Historical St Petersburg. The works must thematically correspond to the name of the contest ‘St Petersburg — in the World, the World in St Petersburg’ and be dedicated to the issue of international relations of St Petersburg.
The exhibition is organised by St Petersburg University. The event is held with the support of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The opening ceremony will bring together the representatives of St Petersburg University, the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the House of Nationalities, the Committee on Interethnic Relations, the Committee for Science and Higher Education, the Committee for Youth Policy, and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
