Teacher-student-text: the relationship of the three actors of education
St Petersburg University and its Representative Office in Barcelona invite you to the online lecture "Teacher-student-text: the relationship of the three actors of education". It is part of the new lecture series ‘How to teach and learn in the 21st century’. The lecture will be delivered by Vadim Pugach, Candidate of Pedagogy, Associate Professor, a member of St Petersburg Writers’ Union and the Union of Russian Writers, the author of twelve books.
There is no doubt that the teacher and the student are actors in the teaching and learning process. Even those teachers who are used to "giving the material" and wonder why students ‘do not take it’ agree with this. It turns out, however, that the cultural text that becomes the subject of discussion in classrooms also shows some signs of subjectivity.
In contemporary research on teaching, much attention is paid to the aspect of the teacher-student relationship on which both the effectiveness of learning and the professional future of the student depend. The teacher is one of the main guides of the younger generation for the transition to adulthood.
A cultural text is a way of transmitting knowledge and emotional experience about objects of the outside world. It is important for education and can reflect a teacher’s personal opinion. During our lecture, we will try to understand how an interpreter’s subjective view of culture affects his or her understanding of history and practice.
