Director of SPbU branch in Uzbekistan congratulated the University on its 300th anniversary
Congratulations on the 300th anniversary of the founding of St Petersburg University continue to arrive from all over the world.
Mahmudjon Ziyadullaev, Director of the SPbU branch in Tashkent, presented the University with a decorative plate. The plate features the Twelve Collegia building and the monument to Sergey Uvarov, Minister of Public Education of the Russian Empire, adorned with traditional oriental ornaments.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, has signed a decree to open a branch of St Petersburg University in Tashkent in 2021. In autumn 2023, the branch opened admissions for the International Business in the Digital Economy programme. Programmes in regional studies, philology, and biomedicine are planned for the near future. The University will award its graduates with a custom-designed diploma that is acknowledged as proof of higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The branch of SPbU also hosts international scientific and educational events. In August 2023, the branch hosted the 11th Youth Dialogue organised by the Korea — Russia Dialogue forum. The event was attended by students from six Russian universities, nine Korean universities, and two Uzbekistani universities. In November, SPbU organised professional development courses for 50 mathematics and chemistry teachers in Uzbekistan. The courses received support from the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
