Joint master’s programme at St Petersburg University and Fergana State University
St Petersburg University continues the admission to the programme "Russian Language and Russian Culture in the Aspect of Teaching Russian as Foreign Language". The programme is created for international citizens and aimed at studying the rich world of the Russian culture and language.
The joint master’s programme is aimed at training specialists who will be able to work as teachers of Russian as a foreign language, research associates, journalists, as well as specialise in the area of tourism, international business, and cultural and educational activity.
When creating the programme, many factors were considered including those helping foreigners to immerse into the context of the Russian culture. The preparation is done in three directions: linguistic and cultural; textual; and functional and semantic. Within the framework of the programme, foreign students will learn special characteristics of the national culture and the way it is reflected in the language. They will learn to analyse texts and perform research of various linguistic phenomena.
The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical courses. It will enable future specialists to master fundamentals of the Russian language and find practical application to the obtained knowledge. To do so, the curriculum provides for elective courses, lectures, workshops, and mandatory practical training.
During training, future specialists acquire a high level of proficiency in the Russian language, which enables them to solve communicative tasks in the sphere of professional communication.
The programme is created following the "dual diploma" model together with Fergana State University (Uzbekistan) offering studies in an international university for one year. After completing the studies, graduates will have the level of English equivalent to B2 CEFR. International students can study Russian as a foreign language instead of English. In this case, the future master’s programme student has to have the level of Russian equivalent to the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language-3.
Since 1 March 2022, documents (portfolios) are accepted for competition. You can apply on a government-funded basis or a fee-paying basis. The duration of the programme is two years.
