A master's student from St Petersburg University wins the ‘Student of the Year – 2020’ contest
The Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of St Petersburg and the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region have summed up the results of the ‘Student of the Year – 2020’ contest.

The winner in the nomination ‘Best in organising interethnic and international cooperation (tolerance)’ was Tatiana Priima, a master's student at St Petersburg University. She is actively engaged in strengthening Russian–Serbian cooperation and adapting foreign students to the Russian environment. She is also head of the international club ‘Serbian Conversational Meetings’ and the compiler of the first visual Serbian–Russian Internet dictionary ‘Moj srpski rechnik’. It was her idea to organise an international event ‘Reading Poems about World War Two’. Tatiana Priima is the winner of the international contest ‘Serbia in my heart’ and the international Olympiad ‘My Serbia’. She is also a diploma holder for the successfully implemented research work ‘Serbian partisan movement during World War Two’.
I am honoured and pleased to become student of the year for the second time. This year was extremely unusual, challenging for all of us. This is why it is especially pleasant to be here today and to understand that many more students besides me have shown astonishing results.

This year, 200 people from 36 St Petersburg universities, including seven students from St Petersburg University, took part in the ‘Student of the Year’ contest. The expert jury selected the students who have achieved the greatest success in: research, engineering and artistic creativity; organising the student labour unions; volunteer movement; and other areas of activity. In total, the contest is held in 12 nominations. In accordance with the resolution, the winners and prize winners are awarded 36 personal scholarships from the Government of St Petersburg.
