Online programmes of St Petersburg University now on the OpenEdu Platform
More than 750 courses in various areas are available on the OpenEdu platform. A new format is now being implemented here — online programmes, including four new ones from St Petersburg University. Enrolment for the programmes is already open.
The programmes of the University imply: developing competence in particular spheres; professional retraining and learning a new profession in a short period of time; acquiring advanced skills that are applicable and in demand on the labour market; and training from anywhere in the world at a convenient time and in a comfortable environment. Lessons are held in a distance format and involve topical video lectures and webinars, games and seminars, studying supplementary materials, and tests to check knowledge.
Creative Thinking in Business
Students of this online programme will learn how to use creative thinking skills to find interesting and unconventional solutions. They will train their brains and expand the patterns of thinking, get rid of stereotypes and broaden horizons, and analyse the psychological side of creativity. The focus is on different techniques which, when applied, enhance the productivity and originality of thinking.
Legal English
The classes are aimed at developing students’ practical legal English skills that are essential for successful business support. As a result of the training they will know at least 2.000 professional terms and the basics of legal translation. They will also learn how to prepare documentation: CVs, covering letters and business letters (including those of non-standard nature that focus on the heart of the matter), and statements of claim. Students will acquire communication skills and become confident when communicating with clients, colleagues and partners. At least B1 level of English is required.
Blockchain: Architecture and Operation Principles
The professional retraining programme is designed for those who want to explore the complex new world of blockchain technology. It aims to provide a holistic view on how distributed registries work. Students will learn about: the different elements of the architecture; the mandatory components of networks; the basic concepts (token, cryptocurrency, e-wallet); their differences and applications; the work of distributed registries with elements of developing simple smart contracts; and much more.
Blockchain: Aims, Business Models and Regulation
The non-degree programme contains an in-depth analysis of technological, commercial and regulatory aspects of blockchain application. The programme enables students regardless of their education to gain a basic understanding of: the prerequisites for the emergence of distributed registers; the possibilities and purposes of this technology; and the basic mathematical algorithms and legal approaches to its application. Particular attention is paid to the digital rouble project, the Law on Digital Financial Assets and the specifics of Russian legislation in the field of innovation.
