Registration open for the IV SPbU International Online Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language
The Olympiad is not only an opportunity to learn more about life in Russia, Russian culture and history, but also a chance to take the state exam in Russian as a foreign language free of charge and gain additional points for admission to SPbU.
Over the past five years, more than 27,000 people from 151 countries have participated in the Russian as a Foreign Language Olympiad. Over 8,000 entries are expected this year, with registration open until 1 November. Over 2,800 entries were received in the first week alone. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, and Turkmenistan are the leading by number of applications.
The Olympiad is organised for participants aged 12 to 17 and 18 to 35 and consists of two rounds.
The first round includes an online test in Russian vocabulary and grammar, as well as reading comprehension tasks. It started on 16 October and will end on 1 November 2023.
The second round will take place from 6 November to 19 November 2023. Here, participants will demonstrate their reading and listening skills.
