SPbU-2018: More affordable and diverse
October 1, St Petersburg University has published applications guide for 2018-19 entry on its official web-site. Now you have more opportunities to make an application to join us and more educational programmes to choose from.
One of the changes in the application guide to study at SPbU is how you can apply. As the University implements the policy of transparence and affordability of the educational programmes, you can submit your online application form for undergraduate and specialist study at SPbU in your profile page at the University’s web-site in 2018. Since 2018, SPbU will get online application forms for all levels of study at SPbU.
Another change concerns admissions for graduate study at SPbU. In 2018, you should submit your portfolio to be enrolled on the graduate courses (80% of all the graduate programmes). So should you, If you are an international students and apply for graduate and post-graduate study on fee-paying basis. Now international students can upload their documents in their profile page at the University’s web-site and expect the results without having to leave their home and coming to St Petersburg to take entrance tests.

New educational programmes at SPbU
In 2018, SPbU offers 320 educational programmes. In developing educational programmes, SPbU is continuing its policy of interdisciplinary approach and primarily focuses on the Government’s overarching priorities in digital economy.
SPbU is opening the following under-graduate programmes:
- Mathematics and computer sciences
- Law with a focus on Japanese language and law
- Archeology
- Sociological research in digital society
The number of the graduate programmes is increasing, with 32 new programmes among 184 available:
- Bioinformatics
- Urban property and development
- Geology in hydrocarbon exploration
- Digital economy
- Business management in digital economy
- Condensed matter physics on the mega-class research facilities
- Translation in natural sciences
