SPbU has shown a surge in university rankings across the world – once again: QS
Today, June 8, leading QS world university rankings are released. St Petersburg University has seen rankings improvements and features in the world’s top 250 universities.
QS World University Rankings is regarded as one of the three most influential and widely observed university measures, alongside THE and ARWU. Since 2004, the UK’s Quacquarelli Symonds has measured the university performance against key six indicators.
This year, SPbU features in the leading 1% of universities across the world, with 29,000 universities globally registered, according to QS World University Rankings.
Traditionally, SPbU has the highest scores in the Academic Reputation and Employer Reputation. These measures see higher relative scores than last year.
“The Academic Reputation is based on academic survey in academic community. In other words, the highest weighting of any metric is allotted to an institutions’ Academic Reputation, which collates the expert opinions in the higher education space on the research carried out at the institution. I am glad to say that SPbU’s Academic Reputation is on the rise each year. It is important that we are universally recognized by our peers, and obviously the quality of research at the University is our constant priority”, — said SPbU’s Rector Nikolay Kropachev.
For reference:
The QS continue to enjoy a remarkably consistent methodological framework, compiled using six metrics: Academic Reputation (40 %), Citation per faculty (20 %), Faculty/Student Ratio (20 %), Employer Reputation (10 %), International Faculty Ratio (5 %), and International Student Ration (5 %).
