Career Day is a platform for employers to scout for talent. Among the companies that visited the event were Biocad, Google, Loreal, Microsoft, Nokian Tyres, Uniqlo, Gazprom Export, Leroy Merlin, and Sberbank to name but a few. In the SPbU’s Assembly Hall, there was a poster session where the students can get information about job requirements and submit their CVs.

“You can get valuable experience and gain network contacts. Further only good job references will boost your career”, — said Boris Grumbkov and added that his first working days were at the University.
Those who are aiming to build a career in government had an excellent opportunity to visit a workshop by Igor Murashev, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Public Service and Human Resources Policy, Administration of St Petersburg. He has been actively involved in the Career Day at SPbU. Anyone who are willing to gain insight into how government work can get internship through “Open Smolny”, he said.
“Several time during a year, the students of St Petersburg universities can work at the Administration during one day. You should apply online at the Administration’s web-site and tell about your project. As 2017 is a Year of Ecology in Russia, the your projects should also focus on ecology. You can apply up to November 15», — said Igor Murashev.
One of the crucial criteria for young people when choosing a job is a corporate culture. It is the corporate values that define the company’s policy: from bonus system to social support for the young specialist, said Anastasiia Ivanova, who graduated the University in 2012. The students could take part in the business game “Da Vinci’s Bug” from the company ‘Krok”, while L`Oreal had an interactive game.
The events as Career Day at SPbU is equally important for both students and employers, say the employers. “For us, it is not only a chance to find potential staff, but also tell who we are and what we can offer”, — said KPMG.
