SPbU’s master programme in Management in top 25 globally

September 11, FT Global Masters in Management 2017 are announced.
The SPbU’s programme in Management has broken into the top 25 in the world, jumping 16 places from the position it held last year.

The SPbU’s Graduate School of Management, which will celebrate its 25-anniversary in January 2018, is a longstanding heavyweight among the top business schools in Europe and in the world. The FT ranking of Masters in Management programmes, where SPbU remains the only university from Russia, proves excellence the oldest university in Russia has gained in business education.

According to the FT Global Masters in Management 2017, Master in Management (MiM) has made a real breakthrough jumping 16 places to 23d among the 95 best programmes in business education.

“The fact that each year the Mater in Management moves up the Financial Times rankings proves that we have a considerable potential in business education on a global scale. The global recognition of our master programme is strong evidence that we have been developing in the right way and our students has a guarantee that they are on a par with the graduates of the best business schools in the labour market”, — said SPbU’s Rector Nikolay Kropachev.

SPbU’s Graduate School of Management has no equals in Russia and is accredited by the EQUIS. Moreover, it retains top spot in the rankings of the business schools of the East Europe, according to the Ed Universal.

The Master in Management entered the FT Global Masters in Management Ranking in 2013 and was ranked 65. The last five years have seen a stable rise of 7–16 places to 23d. Substantially improving performance is a result of the effective overall strategy adopted the school, overarching priorities, and effective collaboration with the employers, says the Director of the School, President-Chairperson of the VTB Andrei Kostin.

Together with the Master in Management, Stockholm School of Economics, a long-standing partner, is also ranked 23d. It is the solutions and strategies in business education developed by the university during over 100 years that make grounds for SPbU’s business school.

We are reaching the tipping point when the pupil surpasses his master, and Russian business education is gaining momentum on a global scale.

The Financial Times Ranking is a globally recognized sigh of excellence in business education. The newspaper ‘Financial Times’ analyses educational programmes by collecting data from business schools and surveying the alumni. The ranking has different criteria: international academic and career mobility, average income, career progress, level of the seniority the graduates work on three years after graduation, and faculty with doctorates to name but a few.

SPbU’s Graduate School of Management offers a full range of programmes in management in collaboration with the world’s leading business schools, among them is London School of Economics, Stockholm School of Economics, Business School of the University of Sidney and others. If you study ta the Graduate School of Management, you can stand a chance to study at one of the 70 partner-schools abroad for a whole semester. Each year, about 40 master students study to gain a joint degree.
