St Petersburg University and the Government of the Omsk Region agree to implement joint educational projects
St Petersburg University and the Government of the Omsk Region have concluded an agreement on the margins of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by Elena Chernova, Senior Vice Rector of St Petersburg University, and Dmitrii Ushakov, Senior Deputy to the Governor of the Omsk Region.
The agreement provides for: cooperation in holding internships and practical training for the students of St Petersburg University in the state authorities and organisations of the Omsk Region; and participation of the representatives of the regional authorities in research conferences, symposia and workshops devoted to the issues of cooperation between the parties.
‘The range of our cooperation possibilities today is extremely broad. It includes not only organising practical training and internships for students, but also using the potential of the University in various spheres from research, development and expert activity to creating joint academic programmes required for the region. I believe that modern universities should become locomotives for the development of the country in general and its regions in particular,’ underscored Elena Chernova.
The sides agreed about the implementation of joint educational, scientific research programmes and innovative projects aimed at the development of the Omsk Region, Omsk State Technical University and St Petersburg University.
‘The Omsk Region demonstrates significant industrial, scientific and technical potential. The region is ready to become a platform for further implementation of research and educational ideas. The resource base of the region together with the research and academic competencies of the University will provide for the development and integration of modern competitive technologies and products for both parties,’ noted Dmitrii Ushakov, Senior Deputy to the Governor of the Omsk Region.
