St Petersburg University and Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University ‘LETI’ design new online courses presented on the largest educational platform
Interactive courses have been designed by St Petersburg University together with Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University ‘LETI’. They are available on the Open edX platform.
Leading educational centres of Russia are working together so that students can complement their fundamental knowledge within their chosen professional field and optimise the training expenses. New online courses are designed to train specialists in the digital economy, and to develop in them specialised skills in the digital economy. Signing up for the following online courses has already started:
Participants will learn about the features of start-ups in the current context of globalisation, crowdsourcing, and the development of open sources. The course can be the early stage of studying the topic, and it can also complement knowledge of training programmes for specialists in innovation. The key skills acquired by the course participants will be: the ability to design an innovative project; an understanding of the digital environment; and features of the restrictions on access to information and its mechanisms and goals.
Students will acquire basic knowledge in patent law and innovation management. During the training, they will develop the necessary competencies. They will be able to: find organisational and managerial decisions; and evaluate investment projects and the impact of the macroeconomic environment on the functioning of companies and government agencies. They will know the basic tools of marketing analysis, and also have other skills.
This online course provides materials on the classification and content of indicators for business processes of various company resources for digitalisation. After the training, the course participants will: understand the present-day information and communication infrastructure of the enterprise; be able to model business processes of resource support; and be able to evaluate the digital maturity of processes and projects.
It should be noted that in this series of joint courses in digital economy there are two more courses designed by lecturers from St Petersburg University. They cover the following issues: the transition of business to the digital format; and the impact of this process on society and the state. It also analyses real cases to show how the digital economy works.
The course participants will study a wide range of issues related to optimising the organisation’s business model using technologies: from processes and strategies of digital transformation to digital twins. The course is designed to develop universal competencies in bachelor’s and specialist’s students.
The course combines the traditions of classical university education in the training of economists and managers with present-day business trends. The interactive course is unique in that it is practice oriented. In a relatively short period of time, students will be able to acquire: important entrepreneurial competencies in the digital economy; the skills to participate in business projects; and theoretical and practical fundamentals. The key skills acquired by the course participants will be: the ability to implement start-up projects and to run them using cutting-edge methods and technologies; the ability to carry out comprehensive assessment; and the ability to improve their performance.
