St Petersburg University and Spektr launch a project for training 5G developers
St Petersburg University and a national vendor of telecommunication solutions Spektr (part of Rostec State Corporation) have signed a cooperation agreement. The parties negotiated joint R&D activities in the field of 5G and next generations of mobile communications. They also signed an agreement on the development of academic programmes in telecommunications.
These agreements will give access to specialists from St Petersburg University to the Spektr premises to improve their qualifications, while specialists from the company will be invited to deliver seminars and lectures at the University. The document also envisages the organisation of joint scientific and academic projects, including Olympiads in programming, radio engineering and innovative communication technologies.
The cooperation between St Petersburg University and Spektr will enable students to invest their talents in joint high-tech projects, and contribute to the development of innovative telecommunication technologies in Russia.

The agreements also provide for the mutual exchange of scientific documentation, educational and scientific literature, methodological manuals and other materials necessary for joint activities.
"Spektr" is a national vendor of telecommunications solutions in mobile communications. The company was established by Rostec State Corporation in 2021 to ensure the implementation of the roadmap for the development of the high-tech area ’Fifth Generation Mobile Communications Networks’. Spektr develops the system project and manages the mass production of 5G solutions, designs and manufactures mobile communications solutions, develops radio access networks, integrates and develops network infrastructure, builds and develops Russian LTE equipment.
Rostec State Corporation is the largest industrial company in Russia, comprising of more than 800 scientific and production facilities in 60 regions of the country.
