St Petersburg University entered the rating of the best universities in the world for the employment of graduates

The rating uses five key indicators. When comparing the rating points for each criterium with the results of 2018, it is worth noting the following achievements. According to four indicators, the position of St Petersburg University is higher than the average rating points of other Russian universities included in the ranking, and according to two indicators the rating points are much higher. Thus, according to the indicator «Achievements of graduates», which characterises employment and successful career, the share in the rating is 25%. St Petersburg University’s point is higher almost fourfold, and for «student-employer relations» it is almost threefold.

The British company Quacquarelli Symonds publishes a rating of five hundred of the world’s leading universities for the employment of graduates since 2015. The rating is based on the following five key indicators: reputation among employers (30%); professional achievements of graduates (25%); partnership with employers (25%); organisation of interaction of employers with students (10%); and employment after graduation (10%).

Evaluating the results of the rating, the rector of St Petersburg University Nikolay Kropachev remarked: «All of the activities of St Petersburg University are ultimately focused on the success of the graduates: both personal and in the interests of the Russian economy. This is achieved by various forms of interaction between the University and employers in such areas as the improvement of educational programmes, organisation of the educational process, the development of internship opportunities in partner organisations, and so forth»
