St Petersburg University enters the University Impact Rankings in the category ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’

St Petersburg University has been included in The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which assess the world’s universities in terms of their impact on sustainable social and economic development.

In the category ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’, it is listed in the 101–200 group. The rankings are based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals stated by the United Nations.

St Petersburg University has also been listed in THE Impact Rankings for ‘Good Health and Well-being’, ‘Quality Education’, ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities’ and ‘Partnership for the Goals’.

The first University Impact Rankings were published by the magazine Times Higher Education in 2019. Currently, it is the only ranked list of global activities of world universities to achieve sustainable development goals.

St Petersburg University has been included in THE Impact Rankings since their first publication.

In 2015, heads of state and public figures at the 70th United Nations General Assembly session set new global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They were a call to action to protect the planet and ensure the prosperity and well-being for all people. In response to the challenges facing the world today, UNESCO calls for observance of established rules that improve the life of people. St Petersburg University supports these ideas and aligns its research, academic and economic activities in compliance with the principles outlined in the 17 SDGs.
