St Petersburg University launches new online courses on data analysis and econometric modelling
The "Segmentation Analysis" course helps you learn how to effectively apply marketing and mathematical methods to solve managerial tasks. The course is based on the principles of segmentation analysis and market segmentation.
Online Course "Segmentation Analysis"
The students will: build data models to analyse various elements of the external and internal environment of the firm; use dashboards; apply mathematical methods to solve segmentation analysis problems; and acquire the skills of working with real data. Also, in order to master the acquired knowledge, students are supposed to carry out individual projects.
The online programme "Econometrics: Time Series Analysis" introduces modern methods of econometric modelling of univariate time series. Students will develop an understanding of the capabilities of econometric models and the limits of their application. They will also gain skills in working with real data and learn how to analyse stationary and integrated time series and make forecasts for them.
The programme consists of four modules, ranging from the study of stationary time series to the final project. In addition, the course provides methodological data with a detailed case study in packages such as R, Stata, and Gretl. The course also covers ARMA and ARIMA analysis methods, the basic facts of estimating the numerical characteristics of a stationary time series (mean, variance, autocorrelation, and partial autocorrelation functions), and much more.
Both courses can be useful for university students and anyone interested in the topic, including marketing professionals. The courses "Segmentation Analysis" and "Econometrics: Time Series Analysis" are available on the OpenEdu platform. You can enrol now.
