St Petersburg University Professor Tatiana Chernigovskaya recognised as the top woman in the field of Russian education

The Union ‘Professionals in the field of educational innovations’ has summed up the results of the survey. The number of respondents exceeded 3,000. Among them were teachers of schools, universities, technical schools and colleges from different regions of Russia. Almost a third of the respondents voted for Tatiana Chernigovskaya, Professor at St Petersburg University, Director of the Institute for Cognitive Studies at the University, an outstanding scholar and a science populariser.
According to the survey results, the second place was taken by Valentina Matvienko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (22.9% of the votes). Olga Vasilieva, the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, is ranked third (16.7%).

Tatiana Chernigovskaya is a Doctor of Biology, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, Honorary Scholar of Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Honoured Worker of Science of the Russian Federation. She instigated the creation of the first master’s programmes in Russia in psycholinguistics and cognitive studies at St Petersburg University. Tatiana Chernigovskaya is one of the leading experts in cognitive sciences in Russia and abroad. She also authored the worldwide popular online course ‘Neurolinguistics’. More than 50,000 students have subscribed to it only on the Coursera platform.
‘Professionals in the field of educational innovations’ is a socially oriented non-profit organisation engaged in: the development and implementation of innovative projects; and the dissemination of best practices and advanced experiences in education. The Union promotes the development of education and takes part in expert discussion of innovative research and applied solutions in education. Among its members are teachers, educators, scholars and experts in education.
