Successful test-takers of TORFL in Turkey
Today the students of collages and lyceums in Turkey can enjoy the opportunities and benefits to take TORFL and get a TORFL certificate from St Petersburg University. The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Ankara has held the first test of Russian as a Foreign Language with the support of SPbU.
SPbU and the Centre for Russian Language and TORFL held a TORFL exam with the support of the representative office of the Federal agency for the Commonwealth of the Independent States, Compatriots leaving abroad and for the international humanitarian cooperation (Rossotrudichestvo) in Turkey. The test was conducted in a telecommuting mode with SPbU and face-to-face. On the Turkish side, the test was carried out by Director of the Centre Liudmila Nosova-Kural and Olga Eshiliaprak, a teacher of the Gazi College in Ankara. The test was administered under an agreement with SPbU.
The University, along with MSU and Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, is one of the five institutes that are entitled to hold the test of Russian as a foreign language under the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science.
International TORFL testing system has six exams: from an elementary level qualification А1 to С2, a qualification which demonstrates proof of exceptional Russian ability and ability to use Russian at near-native levels. The test is divided into five parts: grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and listening.
St Petersburg University offers a wide range of opportunities to study Russian in depth. The additional educational programme “Russian as a Foreign Language” comprises modules of various levels and suits students with various levels of Russian: from elementary to proficiency. Each year, the Centre for additional educational programmes on Russian as a foreign Language “Institute of Russian Language and Literature” educates and prepares over a thousand students from 65 countries, including China, Korea, Japan, Italy, and USA.
