Programme description
  • The master’s programme ‘Artificial Intelligence in Journalism and Media Communication’ is designed for university graduates who are interested in continuing their education and acquiring professional skills in the production, implementation and producing of media products using artificial intelligence and big data technologies
  • The academic programme provides courses that make it possible for students to develop competences that help them to be successful in the media communication market in: media production; data journalism; media project analysis, PR and advertising; and other professional areas of media communication. This demonstrates the demand and potential of the programme with regard to prospective employment of programme graduates
  • The academic staff engaged in the teaching and learning process use in their teaching toolkit, first of all, project‑based educational approaches that help students to implement AI technologies in the production of media products, assess their effectiveness and involve the audience in media projects created with the use of AI technologies

Advantages of the programme
  • During the training, students master a skills set that is requisite for experts in artificial intelligence in journalism and media communication who are proficient in the fundamental organisational and technological tools and have creative skills required to produce a media product of varying degrees of complexity for all kinds of media platforms and data analysis in media projects
  • The interdisciplinary programme covers the following areas of knowledge and professional activity: communications; artificial intelligence; computer sciences; the theory of language; and management
  • During the training, master’s students develop practical skills in working with media content and media production management using artificial intelligence. They do internships at Yandex, and create their own projects with the possibility of their implementation in the media market
