The "Quaternary Paleogeography" programme focuses on multidisciplinary research of environmental evolution in the Quaternary period, one of the most important periods of the Earth’s evolution to all mankind.
The programme is aimed at training of qualified professional specialists, capable to independently carry out comprehensive paleogeographical research, applying approaches of natural geography, geology, biology and archaeology.
The programme is designed to train specialists able to independently conduct research and practical activities in the following areas related to the study of the Quaternary period: paleogeography, stratigraphy, geochronology, sedimentology, geomorphology, palaeontology, geophysics, geochemistry, palaeoclimatology, paleoceanography, paleolimnology, paleoglaciology, paleopedology, geoarcheology, mapping of Quaternary deposits
