The undergraduate degree programme «History of Japan (with additional qualification „Specialist in the field of translation“)» aims to provide students with a holistic understanding of the political, economic, social, cultural, confessional, migration, linguistic and other peculiarities of Japan, together with a parallel and comprehensive study of the Japanese language
The programme is designed for those who wish to build a successful career in various institutions in Russia and the world, in branches of Russian and international companies and organisations, as well as in state and administrative institutions.
In addition, graduates of the programme will be awarded the qualification of «Specialist in the field of translation»

- Combining the latest educational approaches and technologies with years of experience in teaching Oriental languages
- Students have access to unique electronic resources in Russian, Eastern and Western languages, as well as to the faculty branch of the Gorky Scientific Library. The Gorky Scientific Library has a collection of more than 300,000 volumes of scientific, educational and periodical literature, as well as fiction in all languages of the regions studied, a collection of old manuscripts and woodcuts, rare and unique books and lithographs
