Climate change and prospects for COP29
St Petersburg University will host an open lecture entitled "Climate change and prospects for COP29 (The 2024 UN Climate Change Conference)" by Andrea Souza Santos, Professor of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
Professor Andrea Souza Santos focuses on sustainable development and climate change issues, including public policies on climate change, research and project development for national and international institutions. She is currently the Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Panel on Climate Change and Deputy Coordinator of PET/COPPE, coordinating projects on sustainable urban development, climate change, transport and cities.
During the open lecture, she will talk about the impact of climate change on the global economy and Brazil’s agenda for the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference. She will also share details about the scientific research on global warming conducted at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
