Exhibition of Vsevolod Diakonov’s glass photographic plates (1898-1942). Part 1. Cacti and other succulents

The exhibition will introduce the collection of glass photographic plates of Vsevolod Diakonov (1898-1942), who was a son of Mikhail Diakonov, Professor in Law and a historian. Carefully preserved during the war years, after the death of Vsevolod Diakonov, photographic plates served as illustrative material for the first book in the USSR about the culture of cacti, i.e. V Diakonov, N Kurnakov "Cacti and their culture in indoor conditions" (Leningrad, 1953).
