'History of Petrographic Education in Russia: To the 100th Anniversary of the Petrography Museum and the Department of Petrography, St Petersburg University – Part 2 – 1920-present time'

The year 2020 marked the 100^th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Petrography at St Petersburg University. This exhibition is the second part of an online exhibition dedicated to this significant date. The exhibition covers the time period from 1920 to the present.

The scientific petrographic school of the University has long held a leading position. The announced exhibition introduces the scientific activities and achievements in the field of petrography-petrology of outstanding scientists of St Petersburg University: Aleksandr Polkanov, Nikolai Eliseev, Galina Saranchina, Nikolai Shinkarev, Nikolai Kotov and others, their contribution to the formation and replenishment of the collections of the Petrography Museum.
