"Invitation" by an informal association of graphic artists, art historians and curators Print-Commune

Exhibition "Invitation" by an informal association of graphic artists, art historians and curators Print-Commune.
The exhibition "Invitation" is an homage by the Print Commune to the 1930s Vladimir Nabokov’s novel "Invitation to a Beheading". This text is full of doubling images and puns that strive for visual embodiment and resonate with modernity.
The exhibition will feature easel works, installations, printing plates, an old typewriter, and an etching machine. Every Saturday during the month, there will be workshops on various printing techniques, where participants will read excerpts from the novel and create a visual embodiment of their associations.
The artists of the Print Commune work in various printing techniques, both classical and experimental. This art association was opened in 2021 on the initiative of Dana Makaridina and Elina Li. The association presented its works at various festivals. Among them are the following: Nizina and WIN-WIN to name just a few. The association created a collective zine "Imprints of the city" (2022). It is stored in the Manezh Zine Library. The main objective of the association is to disseminate knowledge about printed graphics and create a community of people interested in printmaking in all its manifestations.
