Markers of cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties in preschool children. What can be done?
The Representative Office of St Petersburg University in Spain invites you to an online lecture "Markers of cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties in preschool children. What can be done?" by the child neuropsychologist Lyubov Tkacheva.
One of the most common questions parents of older preschoolers ask is about the near future — the start of a new chapter in their child’s life: starting school. Is your child ready for school? What skills and abilities are key to a successful start?
The preschool years are a crucial period in a child’s development, when basic cognitive, emotional and behavioural skills are formed. During this period, the brain exhibits high neuroplasticity, offering enormous opportunities for correction and development. This is why it is so important to recognise the key markers of potential difficulties typical of the preschool years. How can we distinguish age-related characteristics from signs of developmental problems? What signals require the attention of parents and professionals?
During the lecture, we will explore the main challenges children face at this age and propose effective and timely ways to address them. This information is particularly important, as parents do not always notice warning signs that may indicate underlying problems, which can worsen as the child’s workload increases.
The lecture will cover key "red flags" in a child’s cognitive, emotional and behavioural development and practical ways to address them.
