Public Talk. Russian archaeological mission in Syria: Palmyra and Ugarit
SPbU invites you to join an open lecture on research activities of the Russian archaeological mission in Syria.
The lecture will focus on archaeological works in Palmyra and Ugarit, two of the most significant ancient Near Eastern sites. The lecture will explore their historical and cultural importance, recent discoveries, and the challenges of preserving these unique heritage sites. Special attention will be given to the contributions of Russian scholars in studying and restoring the ancient heritage of the region.
The lecture will be delivered by Timur Karmov, PhD in History, Head of the Syrian branch of the Nizhny Novgorod Formation state owned company.
The lecture will be held both in person and online. Please note that registration is required for in-person attendance.
