Researchers at St Petersburg University join the Scientific Council under the Security Council of the Russian Federation
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has approved new members of the Scientific Council under the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The Executive Order is published on the official website of legal information.
The Scientific Council includes 174 people. Among them are leading Russian researchers, rectors and university academics, analysts, representatives of business and government agencies. St Petersburg University is represented by experts in the field of international relations. Among them are the following: Professor Irina Novikova and Professor Konstantin Khudoley, Head of the Department of European Studies at St Petersburg University.
The Scientific Council is set to provide expert and analytical support to the Security Council of the Russian Federation. As part of the organisation’s activities, scholars are developing recommendations to the Security Council for conducting comprehensive socio-economic research and improving the methodology for scientific substantiation of the national security strategy of the Russian Federation.
Council members also conduct an examination of draft regulatory legal acts, conceptual, doctrinal and other documents.
