SPbU Rated Among the World's Top Universities in Terms of Graduate Employability
St Petersburg University has been listed in the QS Graduate Employability Ranking of Universities 2016 composed by the QS international agency, which is a body ranking higher education institutions in terms of graduate employability and the level of interaction with employers.
St Petersburg University has been included into the group of higher education institutions occupying places from 151 to 200 in the QS Graduate Employability Ranking of Universities. This is one of the best results for Russian HEIs. The list is headed by American universities: Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University.
The QS Graduate Employability Ranking of Universities was first published this year. It is based on five indices: the university reputation among employers, the university partnership with employers, the graduates' personal achievements and academic results, participation of employers' representatives in the university's activities, and the graduates' employability level. The study has also defined the level of interaction of different universities of the world with potential employers and the extent of graduates' demand in the global market.
Interaction with employers has remained SPbU's priority: they are members of all of SPbU's academic boards responsible for the development of educational standards, curricula and other teaching materials. Upon the initiative of SPbU Rector Nikolay Kropachev, since 2016 all the state assessment committees will be composed of employers only. They will include representative of businesses, governmental agencies and research institutions.
