The University opens its doors to everyone
St. Petersburg University has held an undergraduate, graduate and specialist open day for international students pursuing an additional educational programme ‘Russian as a Foreign Language’.
The Admissions Office for International Students provided general admissions information on when applications open, how to apply online and receive visa support.
St. Petersburg University remains a model of excellence for public higher education, locally and globally – and China is by no means an exception. Each year thousands of prospective students from China are eager to do a degree in St. Petersburg University.
‘I am planning to continue to learn Russian and I love the thought of living in Russia. So, I`ve made my mind to apply to a graduate programme at SPbU, — said Choi Zhin, who came to St. Petersburg on an exchange programme from Japan. — I started to learn Russian when I was at school, and I have always been mesmerized by Russian culture. In Japan every new graduate is expected to find work, yet I decided to take another road’.
Her friend Ni Lo Fei told that in China, where she is originally from, there is an increasing tendency to get a degree in law and medicine, yet she has set her heart on gaining a degree in management at SPbU.
— In China there are a good many universities, but I am eager to won a place in St. Petersburg University, — said Ni Lo Fei.
In March and April 2016, SPbU held three open days for students pursuing an additional educational programme ‘Russian as a Foreign Language’. The University is reporting an increasing number of prospective students attending open days, especially from China.
