Youth education discussed at a meeting of student scientific societies
A teleconference between St Petersburg University and Slavonic University in the Republic of Moldova has been organised within the framework of the Representative Office of St Petersburg University in the Republic of Moldova. The discussion was devoted to the topic "Student scientific societies: youth education and professions of the future".
On the part of St Petersburg University, Ekaterina Andrianova, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of World Economy, presented the keynote report "Employment opportunities for students in economics at St Petersburg University and interaction with employers within the academic programmes of the Department of World Economy". Additionally, the Student Scientific Society of St Petersburg University presented reports on the educational system at St Petersburg University and career opportunities for graduates of the University. Suggestions were made to deepen cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova in the socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres and to identify possible points of contact.
Irina Balina, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Digitalisation of Education at Slavonic University, presented a report entitled "The system and quality of education: best practices of the Republic of Moldova". There were also presentations from Moldovan representatives on the country’s staffing needs and an overview of job vacancies.
During the round-table discussion, the participants exchanged views on the topical issues of young people’s demand for professions, employment and orientation towards the professions of the future. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the necessity of establishing friendly relations and contacts between student scientific associations and self-government bodies.
