Aleksandr Averianov holds the record for discovering dinosaurs among Russian scientists. However, among the species described by him there are not only saurians, but also extinct mammals, birds and present-day hares. However, dinosaurs are more intriguing. Moreover, now Aleksandr Averianov is describing a species that is completely different from the others. It was called Gusinosaurus. This name was given to it not because of its resemblance to a goose, which would be quite normal for a dinosaur — birds and dinosaurs are relatives after all — but because its bones were found near Lake Gusinoye in Buryatia.
