From machine translation to artificial intelligence: computer technology in linguistics
SPbU Representative Office in Spain invites you to an online lecture "From machine translation to artificial intelligence: computer technology in linguistics". The lecture will be given by Maria Khokhlova, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Linguistics of SPbU, Acting Head of the Department.
Artificial intelligence has been a part of our lives for some time now, bringing with it a certain degree of convenience. Virtual assistants offer a wide range of support, services such as ChatGPT can mimic human interactions and solve fairly complex tasks. Artificial intelligence is capable of seemingly intuitive thinking and is poised to revolutionise a wide range of fields.
Computer technology is actively used in various fields of science, and linguistics is no exception. During our talk we will talk about the development of ideas related to the application of mathematical and formal models, statistical methods and information systems in solving various tasks related to text processing.
