Mendeleev and Turgenev: the chemical formula for genius

A joint exhibition of the Spasskoye Lutovinovo Turgenev Museum and Nature Reserve and the SPbU Dmitri Mendeleev Museum and Archives. The exhibition is dedicated to the life, work and connections of Turgenev and Mendeleev. The exhibition is based on documents, drawings, photographs, books and personal belongings of the writer and scientist from the museums’ collections. 

The aim of the exhibition is to acquaint the general public with little-known facts from the lives of Turgenev and Mendeleev, to discover the similarity of some of the events that took place in their lives, to prove that they were not as coincidental as they might seem, to reveal new facets of the writer and the scientist that go far beyond the common perception of them.
