St Petersburg University to train specialists for project management in the high-tech economy
The new master’s programme "Project Management in Digital Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy" will train high-calibre IT managers for the implementation of modern digital projects in various fields. Graduates of the programme will gain in-depth knowledge of innovation processes and project management. They will also acquire project management skills based on cutting-edge tools in the areas of digital transformation, scientific and technological development and R&D.
The programme is unique in that it provides an integrated approach to the training of experts that are much in demand in the innovation cluster. Students will develop the skills needed to: work with information in a professional environment; and make managerial decisions based on digital economy and artificial intelligence technologies, data science, information security and a number of other topical areas. The programme is taught in Russian and English.
The curriculum of the master’s programme includes the following academic courses: Modern Concepts of Project Management; Project Management in Digital Technology; Investment Design and Intellectual Property Management; Product Management in Digital Technology; Knowledge Management and Engineering; and others.
Students of St Petersburg University have the opportunity to do internships at innovative IT sites, major nanotechnology centres and industrial groups in Russia. Partnership agreements have been concluded with such organisations as the North-West Technology Transfer Centre, the Kirov Plant, St Petersburg Technopark, and Gazprom to name just a few.
Graduates will be able to build a career as a project manager in the field of information technology, systems analysis, and risk management in project activities. They will also be able to engage in research and development.
