St Petersburg University develops academic cooperation with Peru

St Petersburg University has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Amazon University of Madre de Dios (Peru). On behalf of St Petersburg University, the document was signed by Natalia Sentenkova, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Peru.
During the meeting with representatives of the Russian Embassy, the Rector of the National Amazon University of Madre de Dios (Universidad Nacional Amazónica de Madre de Dios), Hernando Hugo Dueñas Linares, signed cooperation agreements with St Petersburg University, as well as with the Ural Federal University.
The main areas of cooperation between St Petersburg University and the Peruvian University will be joint research, development and implementation of academic programmes, student and staff mobility, exchange of academic publications, and organisation of joint congresses, seminars, symposiums and conferences.
The signing of a cooperation agreement with the National Amazon University of Madre de Dios is a landmark event for St Petersburg University.

‘We are expanding our international cooperation and entering a new level of interaction with Latin American countries. I hope that the work with our colleagues from Peru will be fruitful and will lead to significant academic results that will contribute to the development of our countries,’ said Sergey Andryushin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of St Petersburg University.
The National Amazon University of Madre de Dios was founded in 2000 and is one of the youngest universities in the Republic of Peru. At the moment, there are three faculties: Engineering, Education and Ecotourism. These faculties offer academic programmes in mathematics and computer science, political science and law, agro-industry, veterinary medicine and zootechnics, accounting and finance, and others.
